The family Muridae, within the Order Rodentia, is very common around the world. In fact, this is the staple food for many a mammal, reptiles and birds. This family consists of over 700 species and is found all over the world apart from Antarctica. They are all supremely adapted to their environments and very few are threatened by man. In fact, several live off the produce of man.
